Provides information and support for people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities to empower them to access Home and Community Care Services. The Access Worker also works with local community services to promote awareness about ATSI issues, and assist them in providing culturally appropriate service delivery.

Centrelink is the Federal Government organisation which administers a range of income support payments and services to the Australian community as well as referring customers to work in the area.
Council does not provide direct assistance; Aged pensioners can apply to Council for reduction in Council Rates. (Financial Assistance - reduction in rates)
Community Information services
The Aged Planner provides community development, advice to residents, referral, works with local groups and service providers; HACC liaison & co-ordination.

Information is provided about local services and activities and where to go for more information. The centre will contact services if necessary and arrange a referral or appointment. There are displays of posters and pamphlets providing up-to-date information on community services and activities relevant to local people. Information is available in a number of languages.
A Member of the Legislative Assembly works locally for the individuals, organisations and businesses in the area that he or she represents. The Member receives and deals with many requests for assistance concerning matters such as housing, transport, local councils, environmental issues, youth and community services, the police, and objections to land tax and water and sewerage rates. Some matters may be strictly outside the power of State Government and they will be referred to people who may be able to help. During the day, in the evenings and at weekends Members are expected to attend many meetings and functions relating to the community, schools, business organisations, charities and social or sporting clubs.
