Transitional Accommodation for people with spinal cord injury or like disability. Personal care assistance must be met by, self, family or community care services ie Home Care. Assists with social & emotional adjustments to life in a wheelchair. (Must have own long term accommodation plans in place). No support outside business hours; normally linked with CRS for employment assistance or studying access to OT; Specialist Nurse; Waiting Period varies. Fees of 25% of Income for rent & 5% of income for security deposit per week (security deposit refundable if there is no damage to property) plus the payment of utilities and phone are required.
Third Schedule Hospital with specialised nursing home beds. Provides aged care, respite beds, spinal unit, long term psychiatric unit, CADE unit & Huntington's Unit.
Non emergency nursing assistance to people living in the community who have a spinal cord injury, Spina Bifida, Multiple Sclerosis or Motor Neurone Disease. Service provides non routine assistance with blocked catheters, bladder or bowel accidents, and pressure area review. This is a free service to people who are eligible and registered with the service. People can self refer. For an assessment people must be registered by phoning the Rehabilitation/Spinal Injuries Clinical Nurse Consultant at Port Kembla Hospital.
Services available at all hours 7 days a week.
Personal equipment, continence supplies, skin and wound care and nutritional supplements.
