The Disability Services Division provides the following services - - Disability Intake and Response Service - provides information and support for young people and adults with disabilities and for their carers and families to gain access to community supports and services in their local area. Programs funded by DHS include Community and Home Based Support, Shared Supported Accommodation, Community Participation, Primary Support, Planning and Coordination, Specialist Services, Information and Advocacy Services, Quality and Accreditation, Training Development and Innovation, Strengthening Communities, Flexible Support Packages and Intake Assessment. - Community Residential Services/Residential Respite Care - provides facility based planned and emergency respite accommodation for children, young people and adults with autism or intellectual, psychiatric, neurological or physical disabilities - 5 beds and one emergency bed are available.
The Reading Writing Hotline is a national telephone adult literacy referral service funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training and managed by TAFE NSW - Access and General Education Curriculum Centre. Its role is to provide caller with advice and referrals to educational providers offering courses in adult English language, literacy and numeracy.

Barwon Health Carer Respite and Carelink Services provide information and support to people caring for a family member or friend who is frail aged, has dementia, a disability, mental illness or palliative illness. The service provides short term and occasional flexible respite and a 24 hour in-home emergency respite service.
The Commonwealth Carelink Centre is a free information and referral service for the community to help people live independently; information is provided to the elderly, people with disabilities, their carers and family members, health professionals, practice staff and service providers. In the Barwon region this service is auspiced by Barwon Health.

Provides free information about services and products to support people with a disability and people with an ageing related disability, their families, carers and other supporters to self advocate, enabling them to make informed decisions about matters of importance to them in their daily life. Using specialist expertise, staff source information and then filter, interpret and disseminate on request, through a variety of methods for the benefit of the service user. Calls are attended to by friendly and knowledgeable Information Officers who listen to your enquiry and help link to appriopriate service to assist. All calls are treated confidentially.
